LETTER #24 . . . from one island to another!

Hello!  We have cambios (transfers) this week so i will have a new companion and am getting moved to another island called Calbuco, which is an hour from the biggest city in our mission Puerto Montt! I think my comp is from Brazil but i will keep you updated! I will let you know how it all goes! I hear he is a cool guy!

With comp, Elder Arnett
This week was kind of a frustrating week but it is a super good feeling to start to feel comfortable with the missionary work! Spanish is still hard but i am slowly getting better! I feel like i now know what everyone else is saying but i have a hard time speaking the language. Maybe I'll start learning a little Portuguese now with my new companion haha?

I feel like it's a little discouraging getting moved after all the work and time and effort we have put into these people and this city but i hope and pray that missionaries in another day get a reward for work that we put in! It doesn't matter to me who ends up baptizing but sometimes it is hard not seeing the end result of what you have been working for! That is ok though haha and i am keeping my spirits up. I am also kinda sad to be leaving all these people missionaries/members that have helped me so much throughout my training!

This week we taught a couple lessons in Creole and a bunch in Spanish and all the time in between we are contacting and i am starting to grow such a weird love for contacting. Like it's the worst thing in the whole world but i learn something at every door that i knock. You can't compare the mission to anything in the world because there is no other way to get the experiences that you get on a mission!
I want to get into family history!! Any advice on how to start? I know nothing about it haha!

Love you all!!! Read scriptures and pray! I promise this gospel is true and you'll never know for yourself if you aren't trying. Also if you know it's true, you need to keep growing and developing your testimony!

Beautiful!
