LETTER #17 . . . EMAIL TO THE PEOPLE I LOVE!

Hi All,

This week was a little crazy because the President over the South part of the South America missions was in my mission so we took a boat and a 3 hour bus ride to be able to listen to him in Puerto Varas! I got super lucky and got the chance to also go on splits with Elder Bingham, my companion from the MTC and my current companion!! It was crazy cool and it's also cool to see finally how everyone else in my group is doing with Spanish!

We don't have many progressing investigators right now but we are trying to contact more and i have met so many people! It shocked me to get here to find out how much of missionary work is with members and less active but truly that is what we are doing a good majority of our time! ALSO SERVICE, we end up just finding someone that needs help chopping wood or cleaning their car and a lot of the times that is how we meet people! I CAN CHOP WOOD SUPER GOOD HAHA! 

A couple days ago i was kinda having a rough morning and i had a super strong feeling to go open up my Jesus the Christ book and i opened it and a picture of Jake with his companion fell out and a little paper labeled 50 ways to make your scripture study more effective! Might have been coincidence but it helped me tons and when I'm having hard times i think lots of the mission stories of tanner and jake!

Jeff Warburton served in this same mission like 5ish years ago and at Almuerzo i told a member that i knew him and all of the sudden the member put me on the phone with Jeff! That was super crazy and weird and i don't know what the rule is on a member calling someone and handing me the phone but that was cool to hear a familiar voice!! 

I have been reading the Book Of Mormon so thoroughly right now and sometimes i will read for so long without blinking and sometimes i just get so overwhelmed with happiness reading this book! One of my new favorite chapters is Mormon 9 which is literally a message to the unbelievers of our day! My testimony is growing so much and chapters like that make me so happy about being out here!

I love you all!!!! Read the Book of Mormon! If you don't believe in it, you haven't read it and if you have read it and don't believe it then you don't understand! The Book of Mormon is true which means every other part of this gospel is true!!!!

Family!

Hello yes it is getting warmer here which is so nice but i don't think it ever gets crazy warm here but it is very happy weather! We will know our transfers for the next cambio next Sunday which is a little crazy but i could very well have to direct a new companion throughout this city! That makes me super nervous because sometimes i lack some confidence in that area but we will figure it out if it comes!

Thank you for sending me a package!! I will be totally fine if it does not get here on Christmas!!! It is seriously not a huge deal but thank you tons for thinking of me! Christmas does not feel like Christmas here which is a little sad but it will make Christmas in Utah in 2 that much better! 

How are you mom?? Your bday is coming up!!!!!! I miss you and dad and the fam heaps!!!! Kiss the babies for me!!! Know that i pray for you all every single day!  Love you all!

LETTER #19 . . . new comp and new investigators!!

Hello friends and family!  Miss u tons!!! This week i got a new companion and we started working super hard from the very first minute together! His name is Elder Arnett and he is from Arizona. i think it's kinda weird to be able to have normal conversation with someone throughout the day in my native language. I hope i'm not forgetting how to talk to people haha. This week we found and taught 11 new investigators in 3 days which are crazy numbers in Gamboa!! I think a couple of these people have totally been prepared for us and will get baptized! I have learned this week that if you want success that you have to face twice as much rejection. This week more than any other time in my mission i have seen so many doors slammed but also we met so many people ready for our message! Lesson= work hard + face rejection= success!!! LETTER #15 . . . HELLO Y'ALL!

Hi Y'All! This week i was getting my haircut with a cool member and I let him taze me with this cool police taser and my bum hurt the whole haircut so that was cool! :/  The weather is starting to get a little bit warmer which is so cool but it's still cold and rains just about every day haha!  I think it's hard for me to learn Spanish because i am trying to learn Chilean Spanish from a comp that's from Ecuador that mixes in Creole and English and Ecuador slang in his sentences haha but i am figuring it out and my Spanish really is SLOWLY getting better!  This week was really happy and the work is getting a little bit better because I am making my comp walk instead of taking taxis everywhere and we have been meeting so many people!! We try to go somewhere cool every pday but it's always bad weather but hopefully soon i will have cool pictures to show you guys!!!  I sometimes wake up and work out and just start reading scriptures for a couple hour...

LETTER #6 . . . last letter from Mexico MTC . . GOODBYE MTC!

Hello everyone!  Goodbye to the MTC and to this awesome district!   I miss you all and hope everyone is happy and healthy! The MTC is so humbling and has helped me so much to become disciplined but also i am going crazy just sitting here all day!! I check into recepcion to leave this place at 3am Monday morning and have an 8 hour flight to Santiago. When we get to Santiago we have a 21 hour layover and i think will be sleeping in a hotel. After the layover we have a 1-2 hour flight to Osorno and i am not really sure what happens after that but i will keep you all updated.  Bobo with Anne and John Pingree from the Seventy . . . guest speakers at their devotional! This week was by far one of the most boring weeks but i seriously still loved it so much and i am learning so much!
